Carol D. Campbell, 66, of Lincoln passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 13, 2017. Born April 14, 1951 to Gene and Jacque Deeter. She was happily married for 45 years to Mike Campbell. Carol was very active in the Lincoln community through her work with the Lincoln Children’s Zoo and many other charitable organizations.
Carol is survived by her husband, Mike; three daughters, Sarah (Justen) McKee, Chris (Derrick) Campbell Eells and Mandy (Peter) Kontos; 5 3/4 grandchildren and her lovable golden retriever, Lily. Carol was a fun loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who couldn’t sing, loved to dance and couldn’t resist a great game.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 21 at First-Plymouth Congregational Church, 2000 D Street, Lincoln.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Carol Campbell’s honor to the Lincoln Children’s Zoo, 1222 South 27th Street, Lincoln, NE 68502.
