Billy E. McHargue, 82, of Lincoln, Passed away on 12/8/2017. Born 12/11/34 to William Hiram McHargue and Frieda Mae (Drawbough) McHargue, on a farm in Central City, NE. Billy grew up at a farm outside of Marquette, NE and attended country school through 8th grade. He went to and graduated from Aurora High in Aurora, NE in 1952. Billy graduated from UNL in 1958 with an Economic Degree.
Billy married his high school sweetheart at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Billy and Marlene Simpson united in marriage on 11/28/54. To this union three children were born, Vicky, Debbie and Mike. Billy ran his parents farm for 23 years and worked for NIS Financial Services/Ozark National Life until his retirement in 2002. Billy and Marlene traveled for six years; saw all the states several times, including Alaska, Mexico and Canada.
Family members include his wife of 63 years Marlene; Daughters, Vicky (Arlyn) Hanseling of Milford, Debbie (John) Galli of Lincoln; Son, Mike (Tami) McHargue of Lincoln; 12 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 8 step great-grandchildren, 2 great great-grandchildren; sisters, Romana Larson of Castle Rock, CO and Nancy Kauffman of Grand Island NE; Many cousins, friends and business associates.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents, parent-in-laws, Volney and Frieda Simpson; Brother Dale McHargue; brothers–in-Law Donald Larson of Castle Rock, CO, Clayton Kauffman of Grand Island, NE; and many dear relatives and friends.
Services will be held on Tuesday, 12/12 at 11:00 at Hillcrest Evangelical Free Church, Seward, NE, with Rev. Lowell Meyers Officiating.
Memorials can be made to the family for future designation. Cremation, no visitation.
