Betty (Vallis) Walls

Betty (Vallis) Walls, formerly Bohl, passed into the Lord’s care at age 92, on May 30, 2018.

Elizabeth (Betty) Margaret Bohl, born in 1925 at her grandparents’ home in Atkinson, Nebraska, was raised in Lincoln where she lived most of her life. In November 1946, Betty married the love of her life, Fred Walter Vallis, with whom she was blessed with nearly 30 years of marriage. During WWII, Betty served on the home front, employed by Western Electric. As a young woman, in addition to her role as homemaker, Betty enjoyed church women’s fellowship activities and treasured her years as a Girl Scout Troop Leader. During the 60’s & 70’s she held secretarial roles with the Nebraska National Guard, Adjutant General’s office. In her golden years, Betty highly valued friendships made while living at Cotner Center Condominiums. Since 2015, Betty lived in Chandler, Arizona.

Betty is preceded in death by Fred Walter Vallis, who entered the Lord’s care in August 1976, husband and father of Betty’s three daughters; parents, John and Lydia (Kahler) Bohl; sister, Doris Ann (Bohl) Coffman; grandson, Aaron Peterson, Jr. Messrs. Herbert Reed and Luther Walls, both with whom Betty was married in later years, are also deceased. Survived by daughters, Mrs. Susan (Alden) Peterson, Lincoln, NE, Mrs. Vicki (John) Miller, Lincoln, NE, and Mrs. LeAnn (Trygve) Fekjan, Sun Lakes, AZ; sister, Ms. Elaine Jeys, Geneva, Nebraska; 4 grandsons, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson as well as aunts, cousins, nieces & nephews, and beloved Vallis in-laws John (Nancy) Vallis, Pearl Kuhl and Ruby Vallis.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 9th at Roper & Sons Mortuary 4300 ‘O’ Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. Rev. Melissa Finlaw Draper to officiate. Burial will take place at Wyuka Cemetery alongside Fred Walter Vallis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014.
