Betty Jean Maass, 71, Lincoln, passed away January 4, 2018. Born October 2, 1946 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to Nathan and Geneva (Hurst) Thompson. Retired from the University of Nebraska Lincoln press department. Betty enjoyed painting and spending time with her family and friends.
Family members include her husband of 52+ years, Tom; daughters, Terri Maass and Melissa (Paul) Schmidt; son, Thomas Maass II; grandchildren, Jacob, Nicholas, Luke, Makenzy and Mercedez, all of Lincoln; sisters, Joyce, Donna and Tammy; numerous other extended family members and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Geneva; daughter-in-law, Diana Maass.
Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday (1-9-18) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street.
Memorials in Betty’s name may be given to a charity of your choice.
