Betty Jacobson Hayes, 95, died Nov. 13, 2018 in Lincoln, NE. Born to Henry and Hilda Jacobson in Mobridge, S.D. April 18, 1923. Betty grew up on the family farm near Timber Lake, S.D. She graduated from Timber Lake High School in 1941 and then attended the National School of Business in Rapid City, S.D. Betty worked for the U.S. Engineer Officer in Rapid City and Great Falls, MT. She married William Hayes from Dwight, IL in 1944.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987 and her son, Robert in 2008 and 4 sisters.
Betty loved living at Carriage Glen in retirement- playing Bridge and china painting. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Bryan Hospital Woman’s Board and Capitol China Painters.
Survivors include: daughter & son-in-law, Marilyn and Gaylen Dannelly of Genoa, NE; son & daughter-in-law, John and Hedy Hayes of San Antonio, TX; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Thelma Wagner of Batavia, IL; nieces & nephews.
Memorial Service 10:00am Saturday, November 17th at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with family greeting friends one hour prior to the service time at the church.
