A funeral service for Avery Lee Paulson, 41, Lincoln, NE, formerly of Taylor, ND, will be 10:30 a.m., Friday September 8, 2017 at Living Word Fellowship with Pastor Tim Voth officiating. Burial will following at Taylor Lutheran Cemetery.
A Prayer & Remembrance service will be 6:00 p.m., Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Stevenson Funeral Home, Dickinson.
A celebration of Avery’s life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon, September 2, 2017 at Holmes Park Building Apartments in Lincoln, NE led by Steve Wolf for all his friends. Viewing is at Roper & Son Funeral Home in Lincoln, NE from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Saturday.
Avery passed away Wednesday, August 30, 2017 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Avery was born April 15, 1976 to Weston & Donna (Staudinger) Paulson. He graduated from Richardton-Taylor High School in 1994. Avery attended the University of North Dakota & earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology in 1998 and a Master’s degree in Microbiology in 2002. He taught Microbiology at Chadron State University in Nebraska for three years and then moved to Lincoln, NE. Avery received another Master’s degree from University of Nebraska – Lincoln in epidemiology and worked for the State Health Department as an epidemiologist until his death.
Avery loved football, “Huskers” and “Broncos”, food, friends, music, art, family, all things science, fishing, and visiting. His disability never stopped him from enjoying and living life to the fullest. Avery knew Jesus Christ as his Savior and we know he doesn’t need his wheelchair in heaven.
Avery leaves his mother and father, Weston and Donna of Taylor, ND; sister, Raquel (Darren) Knutson, Grant and Sydney, of Washington, IL; brother, Damian (Magan Thayer) Paulson, Hadley, Sawyer, Bentley, & Sutton of Taylor, ND; aunts and uncles, Don (Linda) Staudinger, Dickinson, ND, Jim (Bernie) Staudinger, Taylor, ND, Janice (Floyd) Gillenberg, Jamesville, WI, NeaLynn (Curt) Ireland, Brush Prairie, WA, Zane (Jodi) Paulson, Greensburg, IN, Kim (Mark) Valleen, Aloha, OR; and numerous cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents, Magdalene & Frank Staudinger and Erling & Helen Paulson.
