Aurelia June “Rea” Smith, 87, Lincoln, passed away July 18, 2017. Born June 10, 1930 in South Lancaster, MA to Gwynne and Madelyn (Bradt) Dalrymple.

Member of College-View Seventh-day Adventist Church. Rea worked for 13 years in student accounts at Concordia College, St. Paul, MN and later at Union College for 6 years in Lincoln. Rea told children’s stories at church and camp meetings about her sons, Tom, Dick, and Harry. These stories were published in the Little Friend and Primary Treasure. She loved to read, and enjoyed history and maintained a wealth of knowledge of current events. She enjoyed shopping at Von Maur, traveling the U.S. visiting old mansions and historic places.

Family members include her sons, Harold B. (Jeannie) Smith, Berrien Springs, MI and Thomas G. (Rhonda) Smith, Hickman, NE; daughter, Tamlynn D, (Glen) Sallows, Madison, WI; grandchildren, Darcie Wilcken, Teresa Edgerton, Christina Bridger, Harold Smith III, Daniel Graupner, Peter Smith, Benjamin Graupner, Charlotte Carter, Neil Graupner; great-grandchildren, Charlize Leonhardt, Rome Bridger, Samuel Egerton, Eve Bridger, Isaac Edgerton, Bianca Hepting, Auriona Hepting, and Stella Graupner. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Harold; son, Richard; grandchild, Destri; brother, Gordon and sister, Diane Engle.

Funeral Service: 3:00 p.m. Saturday (7-22-17) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street. Private family interment.

Memorials to Union College for Dalrymple-Smith Endowment Fund.

Visitation half-hour prior to service time.
