Audrey Eloise Wiegert-Sherman

Audrey Eloise Wiegert-Sherman, age 86 of Lincoln, died September 5, 2018 at High Plains Alzheimer’s Special Care Center. Audrey was born June 22, 1932 in Tilden, the daughter of Hans and Anna (Walters) Ritter. She grew up in Tilden and graduated from Tilden High School. Audrey attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln where she majored in music. Audrey married Wayne Wiegert August 24, 1952. Wayne died August 31, 1969. She married Robert Sherman October 8, 1982. Robert died January 31, 2018. Audrey lived in Lincoln for several years. She loved singing in a barbershop quartet and was a member of Sweet Adelines. She also loved playing golf and organized many family celebrations. Audrey was a member of P.E.O., Willard Sorority at Nebraska Wesleyan University and Lincoln Women’s Christian Club. Audrey and her sisters owned and operated Yesterday’s Future Gift Shop prior to their retirement.

Survivors include her daughter, Cletia Price and husband Bill; sons, Michael Wiegert and wife, Linda; Gregg Wiegert, all of Lincoln; grandchildren, Melissa, Joel, Shawn and Carrie; great grandchildren, Isabella, Elias, Natalie, Ethan, Theo, Charlie and Grant; sister, Deloris Ashburn and husband Bob of Tilden; brother-in-law, Dean Wiegert of Lincoln; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Wayne and Robert; son, Scott Wiegert; sister, Marjorie Decker; twin sister, Aubyn Marshall; sister-in-law, Judy Wiegert; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Les and Evajane Wiegert.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Monday, September 10, 2018 at Roper & Sons Mortuary, 4300 O Street, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Wyuka Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00pm Sunday at Roper & Sons Mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to the Willard Sorority Foundation.
